Since their award-winning debut with *Contained* (2010), twin brothers Henry and Harry Zhuang have consistently pushed the boundaries of animation, earning acclaim for their bold storytelling and innovative visual style. Their independent short film *The Tiger of 142B* (2016), adapted from Dave Chua’s story, showcased their distinctive voice, competing at prestigious festivals like the Bucheon International Fantastic Film Festival (BiFan) and Animafest Zagreb. The film’s success led to a Best Film award at SEAShorts and the Rising Talent Award at the China Independent Animation Film Forum in Beijing, highlighting their ability to blend emotional depth with experimental flair.
The Zhuang Brothers’ commitment to innovation continued with *Ju Ren* (2019) and the animated series *Little Tami’s Book* (2020), both selected for screening at the renowned Annecy International Animation Festival. From their local roots to global recognition, the duo has carved a niche by crafting visually striking, emotionally resonant stories. Their work consistently challenges conventional animation techniques, establishing them as visionary directors who prioritize a unique artistic voice and fearless experimentation in the ever-evolving medium of animation.

A young unemployed man finds himself having difficulty in communicating with his girlfriend. As he struggles to cope with his fragile state of mind, a series of mysterious killings unsettles the residents of Block 142B. Some claimed to have seen a tiger roaming at the estate. Adapted from Dave Chua’s short story ‘The Tiger of 142B’ from the book ‘The Beating and Other Stories’.
